Since 1976, a relative newcomer to the sno-ball trade, Van's on General Meyer in Algiers draws a never-ending line of customers on hot days.
One of the few stands that is open year-round.
In addition to soft ice and good syrup, a good attitude and great personality from the workers have helped make this stand a favorite in Algiers.
Birthday cake with bubble gum creates one of their signature flavors, Spongebob, and helps the stand go through nearly 300 pounds of ice a day.
