National Fruit Cake Day
It seems almost every conceivable food or drink has a day set aside to honor the said items. A day to honor the fruit cake? Sure, why not? Dec. 27 is the day set aside for fruit cakes -- those cakes made candied fruits and spices often given around Christmas, though not always eaten and not always warmly accepted.
While they never seem to go bad or spoil, Jan. 7 is National Fruit Cake Toss Day, a day to throw away the fruit cake.
