07) Muses treats bullied girl to special Mardi Gras event
After bullies ruined the Muses parade with profane language and insults toward her, an 11-year-old girl received the treat of a lifetime.
Emily, who suffers from autism, had a special “Emily-Gras” parade just for her at the Muses den. More than 70 people showed up to give her a Mardi Gras she could remember and cherish.
"The thing that we loved about the city was how people just love each other, embrace each other. It was like a big family. For us, that was something we never experienced. This really reminded me why we chose this to be our home and why we really love the city as much as we do," Emily's mother said.
