MONROE, La. (AP) — West Monroe police answering a disturbance call at a Wal-Mart store, ended up arresting a man accused of using handicapped shopping carts to play "bumper cars."
The New Star (http://tnsne.ws/uRtofe ) reports that 22-year-old Christopher Butler was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on a driving while intoxicated charge (first offense).
According to an arrest affidavit, police spoke to a store manager, who said Butler and others were playing "bumper cars" using the store's handicap scooters.
Police say Butler told them he drove from Cheniere Dam and drank five or six beers on the way.
Bond was $500.
