CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) — Western Carolina has again set school records in a romp over Division II Toccoa Falls.
The Catamounts posted the third-greatest victory margin in NCAA history when it dished out a 141-39 beat down of the Eagles Tuesday night. Western Carolina set a school record for most points scored in a game and biggest margin of victory. Both of the previous records were also set against Toccoa Falls. The Catamounts beat the Eagles 133-58 in November 2001.
Western Carolina coach Larry Hunter played everyone on his 12-man roster, and nine of them scored in double figures. He said the Eagles walked the ball into the frontcourt in the second half, only to either take a quick shot or lose the ball, leading to a Catamount basket.
