SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted 17 suspects on carjacking and weapons charges in what the U.S. Attorney's office says is the largest carjacking arrest operation in Puerto Rico.

U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez says the suspects are accused of various violent crimes that had previously remained unsolved.

She said in a statement Thursday that the indictments are a result of a join investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office, the FBI and Puerto Rico police.
