KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — Police in Jamaica are investigating the fatal stabbings of two young siblings and the hanging death of their father as an apparent-murder suicide.
Investigators are reporting that Kenville Mullings and his common-law wife had a dispute early Tuesday. After the quarrel, the mother left the home to stay with relatives. She later asked them to check on the children at the family's home in Trelawny parish.
When they did, relatives were horrified to discover the stabbed, lifeless bodies of 4-year-old Kale and 2-year-old Kimocoya.
Mulling's body was found hanging from the ceiling, police say.
Youth and Culture Minister Lisa Hanna says the incident is "horrific" and shows that children are "often at great risk even among parents and other close family members charged with providing them with love."
