LONDON (AP) — British media say a lawmaker has been arrested after a fight at a bar inside the Parliament buildings.
The Press Association news agency, the BBC and others say Eric Joyce was handcuffed and detained after an altercation late Thursday.
London's Metropolitan Police said a man in his 50s was arrested after officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a bar within the House of Commons.
Joyce, a 52-year-old former soldier who represents Falkirk in Scotland, was charged with assault last year after he was involved in a melee with several other politicians at a House of Commons bar.
Joyce admitted the charges and paid a fine. He resigned from the Labour Party and said he would step down from Parliament at the next election in 2015.
