MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) — Prosecutors in the northern Mexico border state of Nuevo Leon say they have arrested three young gunmen on suspicion of taking part in a total of 38 killings.
State security spokesman Jorge Domene says the three youths aged 19-23 have confessed to a March attack on a debutante party in which a 5-year-old boy died.
Domene said Wednesday that one of the three suspects had a disagreement with the brother of the 15-year-old girl for whom the party was held.
The young gunmen allegedly worked for a drug gang, and attacked the party in revenge.
In the March 10 attack, 15 people were wounded and a 15-year-old boy was also killed.
The attackers sprayed the building with gunfire and tossed a hand grenade into the hall.
