PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — The Haitian police department says it has made an arrest in connection with the slaying of a Canadian priest last week.
Sixty-two-year-old Richard Joyal was gunned down Thursday just after he withdrew money from a bank.
Police spokesman Frantz Lerebours said Monday night that he couldn't provide more details on the arrest.
Police have said Joyal was shot three times by a passenger on a motorcycle and the two sped off with the priest's bag.
Joyal had just withdrawn $1,000 at the bank, but authorities say they found the cash in his wallet.
The priest was from Quebec and worked as an administrator for the Canadian congregation in the Delmas district of Port-au-Prince.
