LONDON (AP) — A British court says a honeymoon slaying suspect should be extradited to South Africa to face trial over his wife's death.

Shrien Dewani is accused of organizing the killing of his 28-year-old bride Anni, who was shot to death as the couple travelled in a cab on the outskirts of Cape Town three years ago.

Dewani denies the charges, and his lawyers have argued that post-traumatic stress and depression mean he should not be returned to South Africa.

District Judge Howard Riddle said Wednesday that clinicians believed Dewani would recover and may eventually be fit to plead.

He said: "It is not in question that Shrien Dewani will be returned to South Africa."

South African authorities say Dewani will be given medical treatment if extradited to stand trial there.
