Jaclyn Kelley


Jaclyn graduated from Arizona State University in December 2010. She attended the nationally recognized professional program Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

After graduating, she took a reporter job at ABC 57 News WBND in South Bend, IN. She won an Emmy at the Chicago/MidwestChapter for her part in the team weather coverage of a January snow storm.

“It was a unique experience because I had the opportunity to be a part of a start up, which is unheard of in journalism today,” Jaclyn said.

For over two years she shot, wrote and edited all her stories and even ran her own live shots using the cutting-edge technology LiveU. She also filled in on the anchor desk during the weekend.

“I covered snow storms, the Super Bowl when it was in Indianapolis, with the Patriots versus Giants,” Jaclyn said. “I also got to cover Notre Dame Football and women's basketball.”

Jaclyn was born and raised in Mesa, AZ. A tom boy growing up, she loved playing lots of sports, and even played college basketball in San Diego.

“I love the heat, but not the humidity! So glad to get out of the cold, snowy Midwest!!” Jaclyn said. “Growing up I was a tom boy that played lots of sports, basketball was my favorite.

Jaclyn has two beagle/English bull dog mixes Riley and Zeus who joined her on her journey to New Orleans.

“My guilty pleasure is watching reality TV shows. I love to travel! I lived in Paris for one summer so I love and appreciate the French influence and culture here in the Big Easy!
