Katie Moore returned to her native New Orleans to work for WWL-TV in 2006 after seeing family and friends go through Hurricane Katrina. She came back to help make a difference in the community where she grew up.

Katie began her journalism career as a Washington Correspondent for WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. She then worked as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor at KOAA-TV in Colorado Springs, Colorado for more than six years.

In 2008, Katie ws awarded a Jim Metcalf Memorial Award for story of the year at the New Orleans Press Club Awards, received an Emmy Nomination and Best Investigative Report from the Louisiana Associated Press for her investigation into double billing at Orleans Parish Prison. In 2009, she received the Best Feature award from the New Orleans Press Club for her coverage of the dolphins who found a new home in the Bahamas after Hurricane Katrina. During her time at KOAA, Katie received a national Walter Cronkite Award for Individual Achievement in Television Political Journalism, one of only three to receive the honor for work completed in 2004. She has also been awarded several Colorado Associated Press awards and Colorado Broadcaster's Association awards in various categories, including 'spot news' and 'feature reporting.'

Katie attended Northshore High School in Slidell and went on to Louisiana State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in Mass Communications. From there, Katie completed her Master of Science in Journalism at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in Chicago.

She and her pug, Brinkley, love living back home in New Orleans.
