WWL-TV has an opening for a Managing Editor in its news department.
Job Description: This position will provide overall Supervision of investigative unit and will coordinates coverage of investigative material, working closely with staff to insure timely and coherent development of stories and coordinate scheduling of people. Will also work closely with staff in substance and execution of interviews, can do actual interviews if necessary and in writing, for broadcast and web, of actual stories. In some cases writes entire story if needed or if the result of their own reporting. Coordinates release of any investigative material on WWLTV.COM and is available to write or rewrite any material for WWLTV.COM.
Qualifications: To work with us, you'll need 3 years or better reporting/management experience in this market. The ability to work on deadline and to produce contest across print/broadcast/web platforms. Knowledge of local newsmakers a plus and must be able to work unscheduled on short notice or work for extended periods for major stories.
