RUDDOCK, La. - A live cow had traffic on I-55 headed south near Ruddock at a standstill for more than a half an hour Friday afternoon, according to the State Police.
A spokesperson for the police said the cow was moving back and forth on the roadway, but not out of the way and traffic was eventually diverted to US 51.
The roadway was cleared around 5 p.m. when the cow was loaded into a trailer and hauled away. There was no word on how the cow got to the elevated portion of I-55 in the first place.
The incident began shortly after 4 p.m.
