Two-alarm fire damages home under renovation in Mid-City

NEW ORLEANS -- Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire overnight, in a Mid-City house under renovation in the 4100 block of Cleveland Ave.

Two firefighters suffered minor neck burns and one injured his back fighting the fire, according to the New 

Orleans Fire Department.

It broke out just after 1:10 a.m., according to the NOFD.  Firefighters responded to a 911 call first reporting the fire.

Neighbors said the house was empty at the time and under renovation.

Flames and smoke could be seen in much of the area near the fire.

The cause is under investigation.
