BATON ROUGE – A Houma man who won a $250,000 consolation prize in the Mega Millions game says he plans to build a house for his family.

Harold Quick Jr., of Houma, claimed the quarter million dollar prize from the March 23 drawing.

Quick matched the first five numbers drawn in the contest, but missed on the yellow Mega Ball number.

“I want to build a house so my three kids can each have their own room,” added Quick, who was accompanied by his father and stepmother.

Quick received $175,000 after federal and state taxes were withheld. The winning numbers for the March 23 drawing were 06-17-19-20-21 and the Mega Ball was 20.

Quick purchased his winning ticket from Go Bears #40 on East Bayou Road in Thibodaux. The retailer will receive a selling bonus of $2,500, or 1 percent of the prize, for selling Quick his winning ticket.
