MONROE, La. (AP) -- Police say a piggy bank was the alleged weapon in a battery case in Monroe.
Monroe police say 20-year-old Jamika Janae Lancaster was booked Tuesday on one count of aggravated battery against her boyfriend, Roy Shaw, after allegedly hitting him in the face with a piggy bank.
According to a police report, they were arguing in a vehicle where a 5-month-old child was also present.
The Ouachita Correctional Center website indicates that Lancaster was released Wednesday on $1,000 bond. Lancaster could not be reached for comment; she does not have a listed phone number.
