NEW ORLEANS — NOPD has released a picture they believe shows the teenagers who brazenly shot at a woman he had just car-jacked near Oak Street on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities describe the assailant as a young black teenager with a thin, athletic build. He was wearing a fisherman’s hat, a black shirt and black pants during the robbery.

Police spokesman Garry Flot said Tuesday the victim was returning to her SUV near Zimple and Dublin streets when a black teenager armed with a silver revolver approached her between two parked cars.

The robber demanded her purse and keys and she immediately dropped them to the ground. He told her to pick the keys up, but she refused, instead fleeing towards Oak Street on Dublin.

The teenager began firing shots at her before speeding away in her white Mercedes SUV, Flot said.

Police then received a call about a “suspicious vehicle parked in the yard” of a house on Cambronne. Flot said when officers arrived they found the woman’s stolen SUV in the back yard.
