Jindal addresses LSU grads
05/16/2008
Gov. Bobby Jindal addressed LSU's 2008 graduating class on Friday, advising them to keep open minds, avoid conformity and remember to floss their teeth regularly.
Jindal has been on a tour of commencements, as his LSU speech followed ceremonies at Louisiana College in Pineville, Southern University in Baton Rouge and Our Lady of Holy Cross College outside New Orleans.
In all, 3,247 graduates received degrees at LSU's Baton Rouge campus in the school's 265th commencement exercise.
As he has elsewhere, Jindal told LSU graduates he hoped they stayed in Louisiana or returned here after traveling to other places.
The governor concluded his speech with 10 pieces of advice. He said graduates should get involved in the political process, sleep as little as possible and avoid worrying about success, power and money.
He also told graduates to floss regularly, saying the alternatives are tooth decay and bad breath.
