NEW ORLEANS -- The NFL has overturned a one-game suspension for Tampa Bay Buccaneer safety Dashon Goldson for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Saints running back Darren Sproles.

Goldson will be able to play Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Goldson had appealed his one-game suspension, which was presided over by former Ravens center Matt Birk.

The safety, a repeat offender for illegal hits, received a one-game suspension from the league Monday. He had been fined $30,000 a week earlier for his hit on N.Y. Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland.
