MIAMI -- ESPN is reporting that Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney will play Sunday in the Super Bowl.
Freeney tore a ligment in his ankle in the AFC Championship game, limiting him for the past two weeks. That caused many to speculate on his status, especially since some NFL insiders said the injury could normally sideline a player for up to six weeks. He hasn't practiced since suffering the injury.
Freeney was elected to the Pro Bowl this year after reaching 13.5 sacks, the sixth time in his career he had double digit sacks in the regular season.
Even though Freeney will reportedly play, it's not clear how many snaps he'll play or how much it will affect his play.
