GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 4 LSU’s baseball game at Florida Friday night was postponed due to heavy rain. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday. The second game will be 30 to 45 minutes after the first one.
The third game of the series will start at noon Sunday as previously scheduled. The CBS Sports Network will televise Saturday’s first game, and it can be heard on the LSU Sports Radio Network. The second game Saturday and Sunday’s game will not be televised. Both can be heard on the LSU Sports Radio Network.
LSU enters the series at 16-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the Southeastern Conference. Florida is 16-9 and 3-3 in the SEC.
WEEKEND STARTING PITCHERS: Junior right-hander Aaron Nola (5-0, 0.22 ERA) is expected to start for LSU in the first game Saturday against Florida sophomore right-hander Eric Hanhold (3-2, 3.18 ERA). Freshman left-hander Jared Poche (5-1, 1.91 ERA) is scheduled to start the second game for the Tigers against Florida freshman right-hander Logan Shore (1-1, 1.15 ERA).
The Sunday starters are both to be announced. LSU junior left-hander Kyle Bouman (3-1, 2.20 ERA) has a chance to start after throwing a bullpen last week, LSU coach Paul Mainieri said. Bouman missed his start last weekend against Georgia with an ankle injury.
