METAIRIE, La. – Tight end Jimmy Graham was a no-go for practice Thursday, the first session he has missed all season.

The second-year standout, who leads the team in receptions and receiving yards, had a sore right ankle after Wednesday’s practice and the coaching staff wanted to rest him to make sure he didn’t injure it any further.

Meanwhile, five players who missed Wednesday were out Thursday - linebackers Jonathan Vilma (left knee) and Will Herring (left hamstring), right tackle Zach Strief (right knee) and defensive linemen Sedrick Ellis (right ankle) and Turk McBride (right shoulder).

Center Olin Kreutz missed his second straight day for a non-injury related matter.

Tight end John Gilmore (neck/shoulder) was limited, as was David Thomas (concussion), who practiced for the second straight day after missing three weeks.
