NEW ORLEANS - Injury-plagued Pelicans' guard Eric Gordon underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle Thursday, according to the team.
Gordon has missed considerable time the past two seasons with a knee injury. He played in only nine games in the 2011-12 season and missed 29 games to start the 2012-13 season before returning. Upon his return, Gordon did not play in the second game of back-to-back contests.
Gordon played in 42 games and averaged 17 points per game while shooting just over 40 percent from the field.
He was signed to a large contract in the offseason after publicly saying he'd prefer to play in Phoenix.
