MIAMI – Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey returned to practice Wednesday after missing practice for all of last week.
Meanwhile, for Indianapolis, defensive end Dwight Freeney (ankle) and cornerback Jerraud Powers (foot) both did not practice.
Shockey injured his knee against Minnesota in the first half and played very little following his touchdown catch in the first half.
He wasn’t the only one limited during the first day of practice in Miami for New Orleans.
Cornerback Randall Gay (foot), cornerback Malcolm Jenkins (hamstring), defensive end Bobby McCray (back, ankle), safety Pierson Prioleau (quad), wide receiver Courtney Roby (knee), safety Darren Sharper (knee), defensive end Will Smith (groin), tackle Zach Strief (shoulder) and linebacker Jonathan Vilma (knee) all were limited.
Only running back Lynell Hamilton (ankle) did not practice. Everyone else was full.
Sharper has sat out or been limited for much of practice on most Wednesday’s since the middle of the season. Smith, meanwhile, said repeatedly on Tuesday that he was healthy and would be fine come game time.
