METAIRIE, La. — Saints offensive tackle Charles Brown spent the early part of Thursday’s organized team activity session in rehabilitation conditioning drills.
Coach Sean Payton didn’t clarify the extent of the injury, but said that it happened in the weight room this offseason.
When asked about elaborating on how Brown injured himself, Payton said, "I don’t really want to talk about injuries until fall.”
Jason Smith, who the Saints acquired this offseason, played with the first team offense at left tackle with Brown sitting out.
Meanwhile, linebackers Jonathan Vilma and David Hawthorne didn’t participate while safety Malcolm Jenkins sat out during team drills.
Safety Roman Harper sat out the first part of practice before going through drills in the last half.
Payton said, however, there were no significant injuries to report.
