METAIRIE, La. ―The Saints have placed kick return specialist Courtney Roby on Injured Reserve nearly a month after he suffered a concussion.
Receiver Adrian Arrington was promoted to the active roster to take Roby’s spot according to the roster on the team’s website.
Roby went down late in the second quarter on a kickoff return when a player kneed him in the back of the head as he was going down to the ground. He stayed on the turf for nearly 10 minutes before being carted off and taken to a local hospital to remain under observation.
He had been full in practice for a week.
Arrington has been with the Saints since they took him in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He spent all of 2008 on IR, was on the practice squad for the 2009 regular season and was put on the active roster prior to the NFC championship game. He was inactive in both the NFC championship game and the Super Bowl.
