HAMMOND, La. - The best football season in Southeastern history ended Saturday night in Hammond with a dramatic 20-17 loss to New Hampshire in the FCS Quarterfinals.

The Lions had advanced through two rounds of the playoffs in their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance, and appeared headed to the semi finals when Bryan Bennett hit Marquis Fruge with a 5-yard TD pass with 5:17 to go to put the Lions ahead 17-14.

But after the kickoff Sean Goldrich led New Hampshire on the game winning drive, highlighted by a 4th and 1 quarterback sneak from the Lion 14 to the 9. Goldrich scored on a 2-yard keeper with 0:47 to go to win it.

Southeastern finished 11-3 in its second season under Coach Ron Roberts.
