The Hornets have signed a second player to a 10-day contract after another injury sent a player to the bench.
Terrel Harris, who has played with the Miami Heat this season, comes to the Hornets after rookie guard Austin Rivers broke the fourth metacarpal in his right in the first half of Wednesday night’s loss to the Lakers.
Harris (6-foot-4) went undrafted in 2009. He signed with the heat on Dec. 10, 2011 and saw time in seven games this season, averaging 1.4 points and 1.3 rebounds in a little more than four minutes.
New Orleans already has signed frontcourt player Henry Sims to a 10-day contract as a result of forward Jason Smith’s season ending because of a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Smith underwent successful surgery on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
