The Hornets were aided Thursday night when Sacramento beat the Lakers in the regular season finale.
That left New Orleans (21-45) in a tie only with Cleveland – and former Hornets coach Byron Scott – for the third-worst record in the NBA.
Sacramento ended the year 22-44 with the win over Los Angeles.
The Cleveland Plain-Dealer has the percentages out for where New Orleans could pick and it appears it’ll be no worse than No. 7 if it loses a coin flip with the Cavs.
