NEW ORLEANS -- Hornets rookie Austin Rivers underwent successful surgery Friday and is expected to be ready for training camp this fall.
Rivers, a guard, underwent to surgery "to clean up bone spurs in his right ankle," according to the team.
The injury flared up during the NBA Summer League.
Rivers was taken with the 10th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. He's expected to challenge Greivis Vasquez for time at point guard.
