NEW ORLEANS -- The Pelicans have traded for point guard Tyshawn Taylor with the Brooklyn Nets, the team announced Tuesday.

In addition to Taylor, general manager Dell Demps said the team lands "cash considerations" in exchange for the draft rights to Edin Bavcic.

Taylor, a second-round pick from the University of Kansas by the Nets in the 2012 NBA Draft, appeared in 29 games this season for the Nets and averaged 3.9 points, 1.6 assists and 0.5 steals in 11.7 minutes per game.
