NEW ORLEANS -- Sacramento guard Tyreke Evans has verbally agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to sources.
The four-year deal would be worth $44 million.
Evans, a restricted free agent, can't sign the contract until July 10, but according to sources, that's just a formality.
The ball is still in the Sacramento Kings' court, as they have the option to match the Pelicans' offer and retain him. They would have three days to match.
Evans, the 2010 NBA Rookie of the Year, averaged 15.2 points per game and 3.5 assists last year for the Kings.
