NEW ORLEANS -- Sources say the Phoenix Suns have officially signed Hornets guard Eric Gordon to an offer sheet.

The Hornets have three days to match the offer, but there's been no definitive word yet from the Hornets camp if they will or will not match the offer.

Gordon has said his "Phoenix is where is heart is now," but New Orleans has seemed inclined to keep the key piece in last year's Chris Paul trade.

Should the team choose not to retain Gordon, the Hornets also have the option of a sign and trade with the Suns, or they could just let the guard walk altogether.
