ATLANTA, Ga. - A single employee suspected of throwing eggs at the Saints team bus last Wednesday as it sat on the tarmac at Atlanta's International Airport has quit, according to a spokesperson for the airport.
The spokesperson issued the following statement: " The lone employee suspected of hitting the New Orleans Saints charter bus with two or three eggs last Wednesday has quit his restaurant job. Department of Aviation officials at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport confirmed that after being questioned by police, the worker quit. The employee's security badge has been deactivated, revoking all access to the Airport, and the company will be fined. The Department of Aviation has now closed its investigation."
Saints players tweeted about the incident shortly after it occurred and it was a source of social media interest the next day, adding fuel to an already hot Saints-Falcons rivalry.
