******

One week from tomorrow is Fat Tuesday. Tomorrow in New Orleans as the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints parade through the city, is Dat Tuesday.

In this wonderful Mardi Gras season, we will celebrate Lombardi Gras.

We stage Mardi Gras parades as much for others as we do for ourselves. Lombardi Gras belongs to us.

All the Saints fans everywhere who kept the faith – if faith can be defined as belief not resting on logical proof or material evidence, there have been no fans of a professional football team more faithful than you.

A full page ad I saw in the newspaper in support of the Saints prior to Sunday’s game said the hopes of a city will finally go marching in.

In the darkest moments in the history of this team and the city it represents, hope couldn’t be extinguished. Hope couldn’t be submerged. Hope couldn’t be buried.

Sunday, hope was rewarded and faith was confirmed.

This is such a wonderful time to be a Saints fan, a resident of New Orleans and the Gulf South. We are special. And now, thanks to the massive exposure the Saints have given us, the whole world knows.

Embrace that feeling as you embrace one another. No one can begin to understand it, to appreciate it, and to revel in it like you do.

Know Dat. Believe Dat.

Hope that we could, faith that we would, have both been realized as this wonderful feeling washes over us.

Been Dere. Done Dat. Finally.

I hate to see football season coming to a close but what a great close it is. Jim, thank you so much for your commentaries. I waited every Monday night to hear them. Also I am one of those fans who always turned down the TV and listened to you and Hoagie. Thanks too for renewing your contract. Hope you will be here when we play in the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans - and win of course. Bless you and your family.

Jim, I remember you asking Buddy D..."will there ever be another Buddy D?"... and he said,..."I'm sure someone else will come along". Well, I know its pretty big shoes to fill, but you're the only one that's giving me the heart felt, feel good commentary "constantly"... Like he did... :) I always look forward to reading and/or listening to your comments just as I did with Buddy (rest his soul). Wishing you and your family the best and may God continue to bless you with those talents to report it the way you do now. You managed to make me cry again while watching that final report. :) ALOHA to you and all the WHODAT Nation!!

Please put Jim Henderson's Commentaries online from January 18th, January 25th & February 8th. I love his commentaries, but I have a church function on Mondays at 6pm that prevents me from watching the 6pm news. Thanks, # 1 Saints Fan

The end of a wonderful season is upon us, but what a season it was, what a wonderful ride for 19 heart felt games, what a feeling it was each week with one win after another, then we were at 13 and alot of people thought the wheels had fallen off the bus, so there were some who jumped ship, but they don't matter because they weren't true saints fans, the ones of us that have been around from the days of Tulane Stadium to now, the ones of us who never wore a bag,the ones of us who always kept the faith, the ones of us who always would say at the end of the season "wait til next year" well for all of us who have been through the fire and suffered the pain of seeing our saints loose another and another this ones for us, now when we say wait til next year it will mean something very different, thank you Drew, thank you Sean, thank you to the 2009 New Orleans saints football team, thank you for giving us what we have hoped and prayed for for 43 years, thank you for giving us a winner,THANKS

I am going to keep asking this question until Mike or Jim answer it. Did anyone see New Orleans native son(Peyton M) , snub the after-game congratulatory handshake with Brees. This is unsportmanlike conduct, any way you look at it. By snubbing Brees, I feel he snubbbed New Orleans. Now , please give me a reason not to believe SO!!!

Great article on Jim in TPSI. Glad that he shared his history with us. An ESPN2 sportscaster used the phrase 'Lombardi bowl' yesterday. I thought that phrase was unique to Jim. I can understand why someone would want to 'steal' it. Jim is definitely one of the best anywhere and N.O. has been blessed that he did not choose to go "Big Time."
