METAIRIE, La. — Jahri Evans returned to practice Thursday, one day after missing the Saints’ session for undisclosed reasons.
He was joined by receiver Marques Colston and linebacker Will Herring in a small group that were practicing after missing previous days.
Colston isn’t likely going to play against the Texans on Sunday, though Sean Payton didn’t rule it out.
“We will see,” Payton said. “I would probably be more inclined to say no, but I was encouraged with what I saw today.”
Meanwhile, fullback Jed Collins missed his second consecutive workout and wasn’t watching practice from the sideline. Coach Sean Payton didn’t say what was keeping the fullback off the field.
Linebackers Jonathan Vilma (left knee) and Junior Galette (undisclosed) both remained out, as did receiver Joseph Morgan, who hasn’t practiced since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the Black and Gold scrimmage.
Chris Chamberlain, meanwhile, has been excused for a family matter. Payton said he’s expected back by Monday.
