NEW ORLEANS -- Former New Orleans Saints kicker Morten Andersen may be heading to the Hall of Fame.
Andersen, who spent 13 years with the black and gold, was named a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2014 on Thursday.
The kicker made it to the Pro Bowl seven times in his career and the All-Pro squad six times. He's a member of the NFL's All-Decade team in the 1980s and 1990s.
Andersen will have to wait a few weeks to see if he makes it in. The announcement comes Feb. 1, a day before the Super Bowl.
Three kickers -- George Blanda, Lou Groza and Jan Stenerud -- are currently in the Hall of Fame. Blanda also played quarterback, and Groza played tackle.
