NFL.com has an interesting feature with former NFL defensive standout Sean Gilbert - the last big-name player to sit out an entire season.

He sides with Brees in the current contract squabble and says the Saints are crazy not to pay the man who means so much to the franchise.

Gilbert once rejected a franchise tender offer and sat out the entire season before being traded and getting a really rich deal. He said he doesn't regret the stance one bit.
