METAIRIE, La. – The injury list grew to nine New Orleans Saints players Wednesday, cornerback Marquis Johnson becoming the latest addition.
Acting head coach Joe Vitt said Johnson injured his knee Tuesday, but not so severely that he’s expected to sit out of Friday’s preseason game against Jacksonville.
The rest of the list remained the same.
Cornerbacks Jabari Greer (sports hernia) and Kamaal McIlwain (groin) were out along with running back Darren Sproles (knee), receivers Adrian Arrington (knee) and Nick Toon (foot), defensive end Turk McBride (ankle), defensive end Tom Johnson (ankle) and linebacker Aaron Tevis (knee).
No players left early due to heat-related issues Wednesday, a day after four needed tending to.
The Saints will practice indoors on Thursday and it's closed to the public.
