METAIRIE, La. — The Saints re-signed wide receiver Adrian Arrington on Monday two days after cutting him.
The move was one of three the team made, including signing offensive tackle Bryce Harris and placing linebacker Jonathan Vilma on the physically unable to perform list.
Arrington likely wouldn’t have been active against Washington. He had knee surgery early in training camp to clean up a torn meniscus in his right knee. But after returning to practice on Wednesday, he didn’t practice again during the week.
Meanwhile, regardless of the suspension, Vilma was likely to end up on PUP to begin the season. He has been rehabilitating his left knee after he underwent two offseason procedures to help get it back in working order.
Vilma’s full season suspension was vacated by a three-member appeals panel on Friday, which found that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell overstepped his authority in punishing players in relation to the league’s bounty investigation.
