Tight end Jimmy Graham and linebacker David Hawthorne will be game-time decisions Sunday in Denver after being limited in practice this week.
Darren Sproles was back at practice Friday after missing the previous two days with an excused absence and will play against the Broncos.
Graham injured his right ankle against San Diego on Oct. 7 and was downgraded to out from questionable prior to New Orleans’ game against Tampa. But this week, he practiced a little bit more each day than he did the day before.
“He went a little bit longer today,” acting head coach Joe Vitt said Friday. “Now we have to wait and see how we’re doing after practice. Swelling and stuff like that. He will be evaluated by the trainers and doctors this afternoon.”
The Saints will bring along practice squad tight end Michael Higgins in case they need to bring him up to the active roster. Higgins (6-foot-5, 242 pounds) played in four games in 2011 after being call up from the practice squad. He caught a four-yard pass in the regular season finale and had a 10-yard reception against San Francisco.
Hawthorne, meanwhile, practiced for three straight days after missing nine consecutive sessions with a right hamstring pull. He originally injured the muscle in the Sept. 23 game against Kansas City.
Vitt deemed receiver Joe Morgan (chest) and tight end Daniel Graham (left knee) out on Thursday.
For Denver, only cornerback Tracy Porter was listed as questionable after missing practice the past two days.
