METAIRIE, La. ― Cornerback Tracy Porter practiced full for the first time since injuring his knee Oct. 3 as the Saints practiced Wednesday for their Sunday showdown at Carolina.
But while Porter was back, running backs Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush were not. Bush has missed every week since breaking his right fibula Sept. 20 while Thomas hasn’t been on the field since Sept. 26.
In addition to Bush and Thomas, right tackle Jon Stinchcomb (knee), cornerback Patrick Robinson (ankle), safety Pierson Prioleau (ankle) and kicker Garrett Hartley (ankle) all did not participate in team drills.
“We sat him today,” Head Coach Sean Payton said. “He could have kicked today. I think he’ll kick tomorrow and the rest of the week.”
As for kickoffs, Payton said, “I probably would lean more to what we did in the game with Thomas kicking off.”
Cornerback Jabari Greer (shoulder) and receiver Marques Colston (right hand) were limited.
Running back Chris Ivory (concussion), center Jonathan Goodwin (groin) and linebacker Scott Shanle (hamstring) were full.
For Carolina, linebacker Dan Connor (hip) was limited while tackle Jeff Otah (knee) and running back DeAngelo Williams (foot) did not participate.
