METAIRIE, La. – Right tackle Zach Strief was one of four players to miss practice for the Saints on Wednesday as the team began working towards its toughest task of the season yet – a road game at New England.
Along with Strief (ankle), safety Roman Harper missed his 11th-straight practice and has sat out the past three games with a nagging knee injury. Receiver Lance Moore, meanwhile, has missed the past two games after injuring his hand against Arizona on Sept. 22 and has sat out seven consecutive practices.
Defensive end Tyrunn Walker also was out Wednesday after missing practice all last week leading up to the game in Chicago.
Cornerback Keenan Lewis (knee), safety Malcolm Jenkins (neck), linebacker Ramon Humber (leg), defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (calf) and running back Mark Ingram (toe) were limited.
For New England, both tight end Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm) and receiver Danny Amendola (groin) were limited. They were joined in going through parts of practice by running backs Stevan Ridley (knee) and Brandon Bolden (knee), receivers Matthew Slater (wrist) and Aaron Dobson (neck), linebackers Don’ta Hightower (knee) and Jerod Mayo (ankle), defensive lineman Rob Ninkovich (groin) and defensive backs Ryan Wendell (concussion) and Tavon Wilson (hamstring).
Defensive linemen Michael Buchanan (N.I.R.) and Tommy Kelly (knee) along with running back Leon Washington (ankle) sat out.
