NEW ORLEANS - Saints general manager Mickey Loomis worked the 2012 season under a contract extension he signed in August, Vice President of Communications Greg Bensel said Monday.
The extension added five years to his contract, Bensel said.
USA Today's Mike Garafolo first reported the extension, quoting vice chairman of the board Rita Benson LeBlanc
"To have that kind of stability for the long term, that's reassuring because that's always the kind of thing people like to talk about," Benson LeBlanc told Garafolo.
Loomis was suspended for eight game for his role in the alleged bounty scheme that also resulted in the year-long suspension of Sean Payton and smaller suspensions for Joe Vitt and four players. The players' suspensions were eventually overturned.
