An attorney for embattled Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma has subpoenaed former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, according to ESPN's Ed Werder citing an unnamed source.
Mike Cerullo, a former assistant defensive coordinator was subpoenaed as well by Vilma's legal team, according to Werder. The former defensive coordinators were served by Peter Ginsberg, Vilma's attorney, last week
The legal maneuver comes a day after a meeting between Vilma and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
At the meeting, Goodell produced affidavits by Williams and Cerullo which stated that Vilma had offered a $10,000 bounty to knock then-Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre out of the 2009 NFL Championship Game.
"You obviously want me to be guilty if you can't see that Gregg was bullied to sign the affidavit. He signed three days ago! #weakattempt," Vilma tweeted after the three-hour meeting.
