METAIRIE, La. ― Saints receiver Marques Colston sat and watched practice for the second consecutive day, resting a knee that was surgically cleaned up this offseason.
Coach Sean Payton said he expects Colston to practice Sunday and the receiver said if it were a game situation, he would be playing.
“We’ve got a long way to go,” Colston said. “Just being smart with it. Coach and the trainer, they’re kind of telling me to take it easy.”
Colston said he had a little irritation in the right knee Friday morning, enough that the decision was made for him.
But the receiver isn’t worried that the issue will linger.
“It’s really not a major issue,” Colston said. “It’s feeling good.”
