METAIRIE, La. — Defensive end Kenyon Coleman left practice early Tuesday with a “chest injury,” Saints coach Sean Payton said.

He was the only player to leave practice early, though seven players sat out with various injuries.

Linebacker Jonathan Vilma skipped his second consecutive session, but is expected to return to this afternoon’s walk-through.

Payton gave no update on receiver Joe Morgan, who is getting a second opinion on a knee injury suffered during Saturday’s scrimmage.

Linebackers Martez Wilson (left elbow) Eric Martin and Ray Shipman (hamstring), receiver Andy Tanner and defensive end Tom Johnson (hip) all remained out.

While Payton didn’t give a specific description of Martin’s injury, he said, “I don’t see it being a significant setback. I think we’ll have him back within the week.”
