METAIRIE, La. ― Middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma would not update reporters on his groin injury Sunday during the team’s open media session.
Meanwhile, running back free agent Chris Ivory would not say whether he would play Thursday or not in the Saints’ season opener against the Vikings. However, he did say he injured his left medial collateral ligament in the preseason finale against Tennessee.
The rookie running back said he hurt his knee when he took a hit from the side in the first half against the Titans, but he said he was getting better.
Vilma told reporters that the coaching staff asked him not to give any information as to the progress of his rehabilitation. He originally injured his groin on Aug. 27 in the third preseason game against the Chargers.
